Let the Commission be judged by its work – LLRC

The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has decided not to make any statement with regard to references made about it in the report released by the panel of Advisors appointed by the UN Secretary General Ban ki-moon on Sri Lanka.

Let the Commission be judged by its work, LLRC media spokesperson Lakshman Wickremasinghe said.

The Commission has decided to take a more "dignified approach" by not making any comments on the work of another panel, he said.

However, he said the LLRC would bear in mind the contents of the UN panel report, but would continue with its work as planned.

The Commission is scheduled to hand over its final report to President Mahinda Rajapaksa on May 15.
