Lanka, Israel to develop agriculture

A Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation has been signed between Sri Lanka and Israel, focusing on providing Israeli technology and know-how for development of export agriculture

The MOU covers matters relating to harvesting technology, milk based products, water management, and potato cultivation. It also includes provisions for getting down Israeli investors to Sri Lanka.

A special Israel delegation of agriculturists is presently in Sri Lanka, looking into the agricultural development potentials in the country.
The MOU was signed in Colombo on Thursday (May 05) by the Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena and the visiting Agriculture Minister of Israel Mrs. Orit Nokade.
