The Parliamentary Council yesterday approved President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s nomination of Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake as the Chief Justice.

The Council also approved Jagath S. Balapatabendi as the Commissioner to investigate allegations of Bribery or Corruption and Prof. Dayasiri Fernando as the Chairman of the Public Service Commission.
