Estate employee wage increased

 

Trade unions of the plantation employees of Sri Lanka yesterday (June 07) signed a collective agreement with the Employers' Federation at Colombo to increase the daily wage of an estate employee from Rs.405 to Rs.515.

This is made up of Rs.380 per day plus fixed price share supplement of Rs.30 and an attendance bonus of Rs.105.

The agreement was an outcome of discussions held by three plantation unions, the Ceylon Workers Congress, Lanka Jathika Workers Union and Joint Plantation Trade Union Council.
