Mega water scheme launched in Colombo

 

The Greater Colombo mega Water Rehabilitation Scheme was launch at the National Water Supply and Drainage Board Office at Maligakanda recently.

This Rehabilitation scheme is aimed at enhancing the water capacity of the Colombo City in addition to improving water storage facilities as well as providing new water supplies.

Under this, a new tank will be built to replace the old underground tank which is located at Elli House. Also a new water tank will be built at Maligakanda in addition to laying new pipes.

The Rehabilitation Scheme also includes improvements to the old underground pipe network.

Financial assistance for this project is from Japan.
