A group of Tamil asylum seekers who have been deported from Britain arrived Colombo this morning.

Britain took a decision this week to deport 42 Tamil asylum seekers out of which British Media claimed13 were put on a flight back to Sri Lanka last evening (June 16).

A senior police officer confirmed that currently statements were being recorded from them by a special team from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). “We were just recording statements from them, once the procedure is over we will allow them to go soon,” the official said.
