The Kandy International Film Festival (KIFF) is scheduled to start tomorrow (June 22) at the Open Air Theatre at the University of Peradeniya. Branded as a multi-ethnic festival, it will celebrate global cinema with a special focus on the Sri Lankan and the South Asian film industry, and will continue till June 26. The first international film festival on a grand scale to be organized in Sri Lanka, KIFF will include film screenings, panel discussions, and workshops with filmmakers. The five-day event will bring together emerging as well as experienced filmmakers in the local and international arena, such as David Dusa, Murali Nair, Prasanna Vithanage and Asoka Handagama. The festival will take place at several venues in Kandy.
