Special Police division for expressways

 
A special police division will be set up shortly to handle traffic on the expressways.
According to the police a new division is required since traffic regulations on the expressways are different from the normal traffic laws.

The new division of expressway traffic is to be administered by a Deputy Inspector General.

Police officers are to be given a special training to handle expressway traffic.

Traffic policemen representing the new division were to be recruited for duty in the Southern Expressways from Kottawa to Pinnaduwa which is to be opened for transport next month.
