After completing this stadium several sports meets could be held there at the same time, said the Minister of Sports, Mahindananda Aluthgamage.

Indoor stadium, swimming pool, lodging facilities for spectators, vehicle parking and all other facilities will be housed in the stadium, he added.

The construction work of the stadium will be completed within one year, the Minister said.
