SL to host international conference of Quantity Surveyors

 

The 15th international conference of the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors will be held on the 25th and 26th of July in Colombo at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel.

The theme of the conference is 'Cost Management in a World Emerging from Adversity'. Some of the topics that will be covered under the theme include Cost Planning and Control, Cost Modeling, Contract and Procurement Strategies, Crisis Management, Project Financing and Risk Management, Environmental Economics and Sustainable Construction and Disaster Management.

The Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS) is an international association of national organizations representing Quantity Surveyors in the Asia and the Western Pacific region.

The members of the organization met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees last morning and invited the President to attend the inaugural session.

Chairperson of the organization Professor Mrs. Chithra Vedikkara said 120 members from 13 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, China, Japan, and Malaysia will attend the conference.
