Prof. Peiris meets Indonesian counterpart in Bali 

 

Minister of External Affairs Professor G.L. Peiris had bilateral discussions with Mr. Marty Natalegawa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia on the sidelines of the Regional Forum in Bali, Indonesia.

At the retreat of Foreign Ministers, Prof. Peiris addressed his colleagues on some aspects of regional security and counterterrorism, with particular reference to the experience of Sri Lanka. 

Among the other topics discussed by the Foreign Ministers gathered in Bali at the largest conference addressing security themes in Asia were confidence building and prevention diplomacy, non-proliferation and disarmament, maritime security, transnational crime, climate change and cyber security. 

Prof. Peiris discussed current Sri Lankan issues on the sidelines of the conference with some of the participating heads of delegation, including Shri S.M. Krishna, Minister of External Affairs of India, Mr. Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China, Dato Anifah bin Haji Aman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Ms. Rabbani Khar, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Mr. Murray McCully, Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, and Mr. K.
