US Co-operation for SL’s nuclear & radio active applications

 
The United States Department of Energy under its global threat reduction initiative programme has initiated a collaborative project with the Atomic Energy Authority to provide Sri Lanka with the necessary technical assistance to facilitate physical protection instruments in which high radio activity sources are used with the aim of enhancing public safety and security.

This project was approved by the Cabinet on August 3. Approval was also granted to appoint a committee comprising of a team of officers to study the proposal and to make recommendation to the Cabinet.
