NCPA to open second office in Kilinochchi

The National Child Protection Authority will open its second Child Focus Group Centre in Kilinochchi next week.
Chairman of the NCPA, Anoma Dissanayake said yesterday that this would be a discussion point for Government and International Non Governmental Organisations (NGO’s) for children based development programmes.
She said the Kilinochchi CFGC building was constructed as a part of the NCPA office in the Kilinochchi district. UNICEF has provided funds for its construction and would provide more funds for the construction of the remaining centres to be established in the north.
The NCPA Chairman said that construction work of the CFGCs in Mannar had already commenced while another Centre is to be established in Mullativu.
At present the focus of UNICEF and other NGOs and INGOs are on the living conditions and education of children in the north owing to the three decade war which has been a set back in their development in many aspects, she added.
