The Mahanayake of the Asgiri Chapter Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddha Rakkitha Thero presented the Vihara Devalagam Reform Draft Act to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Janadhipathi Mandiraya in Kandy yesterday (August 15).

The President was informed that this Draft Act has been prepared with the consent of the Temples of both the Asgiriya and Malwathu Chapters. Traditions and discourses of each chapter, as well as the legal needs have been taken into consideration in the drafting process.

The event was attended by Anunayake of the Malwatu Chapter Rev. Niyangoda Vijithasiri Thero, Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter Rev. Galagama Aththadassi Theor, Registrar of the Asgiriya Chapter Rev. Anamaduwe Dhammadassi Thero and members of the clergy.
