President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday (19) opened "Construct 2011", Sri Lanka's largest and most prestigious construction industry related exhibition at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Center in Colombo.
The three-day exhibition, organized by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) for the eleventh consecutive year, is considered as the construction industry's key trade fair in the South Asian Region.
It features over 250 local and foreign exhibitors displaying products from Malaysia, India, Pakistan and China while showcasing the achievements of Sri Lanka's construction Industry.
The organizers say the main objective of the exhibition is to develop the construction industry in Sri Lanka by introducing world-class products, services and state-of-the-art technology.
Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister, Wimal Weerawansa and the Deputy Finance Minister, Geethanjana Gunawardena also accompanied the President.
