Buddha statue unveils in India

 

A Buddha statue was ceremoniously unveiled at the Sri Lanka Buddhist Pilgrims Centre in New Delhi by High Commissioner Prasad Kariyawasam on August 30.

The statue has been donated by the Foreign Employment Bureau to the Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi. More than 300 Buddhist pilgrims together with Deputy High Commissioner Palitha Ganegoda, Minister Counsellor Sugeeswara Senadhira and the High Commission staff and the Sri Lankan community in Delhi participated in the religious ceremony.

Ven. Pallegama Vijitha Thero Administrative Secretary of the Sri Lanka Buddhist's Pilgrims Rest deliverd a sermon and Ashirvada Pooja was conducted by Ven Ehthabedhiyaye Sugathananda Thero.
