Rs.66 million to complete development projects

 

The government has allocated a sum of Rs.65, 890m this year for the speedy completion of number economic development projects island wide by the Ministry of Economic Development.

Accordingly, funds issued by the Ministry will cover the various long standing projects set out to develop the 13101 Grama Seva Wasam, in the 20 Districts in the country.

The sum allocated covers the following projects. Accordingly, Rs.38630 for Divi Naguma Project, Rs.30250 for Samurdhi Programme, Rs.102840 for Gama Neguma Programme, Rs.12578 for Gami Diriya Programme and Rs.36144 for Yali Pubudamu Programme,

In addition, Rs.391716 for carpeting roads, Rs.2825 for Southern development Authority, Rs.3000 for Udarata Development Authority have been allocated.

Also, Vimadhyagatha Aya Weya Rs.9050 has been set aside for projects to be implemented under the decentralized budget through the district development plan. The allocation for foreign funded project is Rs.21283.

Moreover, a sum of Rs.7709 has been allocated for Provincial Development Projects, Rs.1000 for the development of Estate Roads and Rs.1873 for the Negenahira Navodaya Programme.

Furthermore, Rs. 1860 has been set aside for the development of schools in the 20 districts, and another Rs.25249 for the construction of sanitary facilities at the said schools. Moreover, a sum of Rs.20194 has also been granted for maternity clinics.

Additionally, Rs. 30396 has been allocated in view of minor scale Irrigational projects and another Rs.25249 towards rural development projects related to provision of electricity, water and roads.
