World Habitat Day celebrated

 
World Habitat Day themed ‘Habitat and Climate Change’ is celebrated in Sri Lanka today.

The Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing & Common Amenities has organised several programmes to celebrate the World Habitat Day.

It has allocated a sum of Rs.100m to improve housing facilities in Colombo. Measures are underway to construct new houses in the Colombo district.

The Ministry has also commenced a project to build houses for the indigenous communities in the country while ensuring their culture and life styles.
