New administrative complex in Hambantota to be opened

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will declare open a new Administration Complex in Hambantota today (04).

The five-storied building complex, built at a cost of 2.9 billion rupees on a 72-acre land in Siribopura, Gonnoruwa in Hambantota, is to house the district's all major government institutions, department offices and the office complexes demolished for the Hambantota port construction.

Accordingly, 42 Government institutions will be housed in this administrative complex including Hambantota District Secretariat, Divisional Secretariat, banks, post offices, Local Government institutions, libraries, electricity depots, telecommunication offices and many other state and public sector offices making it convenient for the public to receive all state services from one location.

The government of South Korea had granted funds for the project and the Urban Development Authority has carried out the construction.
