Post offices to be computerized

 

The Government has taken action to computerize post offices island wide.

According to the Postal Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga, Rs.646, 000,000/= is to be spent for this purpose.

This will help to accelerate the activities of the post offices island wide. There are 644 post officers and 3408 sub post offices all over the country.

In addition to these 499 Postal Agencies, 159 Rural Postal Centers and 58 Plantation post offices are serving the public.
