Appropriation bill for 2012 will be presented to the parliament for its first reading today (18).

President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Finance Minister will present the Budget 2012 in Parliament (2nd Reading) on November 21.

Projected expenditure of the government for economic development for 2012 is to be Rs. 2220 billion. Anticipated Revenue for 2012 is Rs. 1115 Billion.

The International Monetary Fund also said that the current monetary conditions in Sri Lanka are appropriate for supporting the economic recovery.
