According to Deputy Chief of Police Neal Thaluvatta, this was formed with prominent people of society as its members so that people could approach this Division easily and voice their needs.

There is a necessity at present to build a smooth relationship between the police and public, and therefore, this Division was established, Deputy Chief of Police said.
