Priority of Deyata Kirula should be given to development of A'pura

 

During a progress review meeting with regard to the activities of the Deyata Kirula Development Exhibition – 2012 it was stated that the priority of Deyata Kirula Exhibition should be given to the development of Anuradhapura District.

Meanwhile, during the progress review meeting the progress of the anticipated development activities assigned to each ministry was separately discussed.

Roofing tiles are supplied subjected to a maximum of thousand (1000) tiles per house under the Programme of Supplying Roofing Tiles for 50,000 Houses and the priority will be given to the houses without permanent roofs. In addition, attention will be paid to supply roofing tiles for dilapidated roofs.

Steps will be taken to supply the timber required to repair the roofs of houses at a reasonable price through State Timber Corporation.

Rs. Million 2 each will be granted under “Gama Naguma” Programme for each Grama Niladhari division in Anuradhapura District for development activities.

Road development activities of the district are done at a cost of more than Rs. Million 6000 and these activities have already been initiated.

47 tanks of the area are rehabilitated and rehabilitation activities of 15 tanks have already been commenced.

In addition, a range of development activities is performed by each ministry and it was revealed that all measures have been taken to hold this exhibition in line with the National Independence Day – 2012.
