Solar power generators to rural areas

 
Ministry of Power and Energy has initiated a programme to supply power through specific solar power generators, to the people who don’t have the power supply from the national grid.

The Ministry has discovered that 37, 814 families in rural areas islanwide are using oil lamps as they don’t have access to the power line from the national grid.

Actions are afoot to introduce six varieties of solar power generators next year and they will be provided to the households according to their needs of consuming power.
