The SRM University, considered as the leading private university in India, has commenced its operations in Colombo.

The inauguration of the marketing operations of SRM Global’s Sri Lankan arm SRM Lanka was held on 30 October at Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

The ‘2011 India Today’ survey ranked SRM University as India's No. 1 Multiple Streams Private University, selecting its engineering and medicine streams as ‘No 1’ amongst all.
SRM University also recently gained fame in India when it launched a nano satellite “SRMSAT” designed and developed by its engineering students.
