Price control on drugs from next year

 
A price control on pharmaceutical drugs will be implemented from the first quarter of next year, says the Ministry of Health.

The decision to impose a price control on drugs was made after considering the complaints submitted by the general public, the Ministry stated.

Even though a price control had existed until 2002, it was removed government through a special gazette notification.

As a result of this drug retailers have been able to set prices according to their preference, the Health Ministry pointed out while adding that a gazette will be reprinted to bring back the price control on pharmaceutical drugs.
