A team of students of Velanai Central College, Kayts, Jaffna visited Temple Trees on October 29, during an education tour to Colombo.

This tour was organized by the 17th Battalion Gemunu Watch (17 GW) serving in Kayts, under a project to uplift the standards of education of Jaffna students, a main aspect of the Civil-Military Coordination programme initiated by the Commander Security Forces – Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe. 126 students, 13 teachers and 7 parents attended the tour.

They visited many important landmarks in Colombo including the Galle Face Green, Colombo harbour, Dehiwala Zoo, National Museum, Viharamahadevi Park, Independence Square, Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall and Parliamentary Complex.
