“Let my people and my country prosper and my people have peace of mind”, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa on his birthday which is today (18 Nov).

President Rajapaksa marks his 66th birthday today and has received greetings from well-wishers in Sri Lanka and abroad.

Special religious ceremonies to invoke blessings on him and other events both to mark the President's birthday and the beginning of the second year of his second term of office will be held in the country and elsewhere.
