Remaining ex-LTTE cadres to be released before year end


The remaining former LTTE combatants who are currently undergoing rehabilitation will be reintegrated into society before the end of the year, the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Major General Chandana Rajaguru said. He made this statement during a discussion with a South African delegation at the Security Forces Headquarters Wanni. The discussion, held under the presence of Vanni Security Forces Commander Major General Sumedha Perera, emphasized on the relief programmes launched by the government for the ex-LTTE cadres who have been released so far. The Commissioner General of Rehabilitation had also briefed the delegation on the training provided to the former cadres to hone their skills during the rehabilitation process.
