Budget 2012: 2nd reading passed by majority of 91 votes

 

The second reading of the Budget for 2012 was passed in Parliament yesterday (Nov.30) by a majority of 91 votes. While 151 Members of Parliament voted in favour and 60 voted against.

The Budget for 2012 was presented to the Parliament by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on November 21.

Committee Stage Debate on Budget 2012 commences from today (Dec.1) and will continue up to 21st December, stated the Ministry of Finance & Planning.
