The newly constructed Sambuddhathwa Jayanthi Stupa was unveiled by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on December 4.

This stupa has been constructed by the Buddhist Society of the Galle Municipal Council, in the Municipal Council premises.

The unveiling ceremony was attended by Governor of the Southern Province Kumari Balasooriya, Chief Minister Shan Vijayalal Silva, and Senior Minister Piyasena Gamage.
