Indonesia’s fullest support to safeguard sovereignty of Sri Lanka- President Yudhoyono |

Indonesia will always give its fullest support Sri Lanka to safeguard the country's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, Indonesian President Susilo Banbang Yudhoyono said when he met President Mahinda Rajapaksa today (8) on the sidelines of the Bali Democracy Forum IV, currently being held in Bali, Indonesia.
The Indonesian President while welcoming the address made by President Rajapaksa atthe inaugural session of the Bali Forum said views therein will be very important for future activities of the Forum.
While apprising President Rajapaksa on terrorism activities in Papua New Guinea in Indonesia, President Yudhoyono said measures taken to combat terrorism should be looked at in a positively.
President Rajapaksa describes the achievements made by Sri Lanka at present and invited Indonesian investors to take part in Sri Lanka’s ongoing development projects.
The two leaders discussed ways to expand the already strong bilateral ties between the two countries in all sectors. President Rajapaksa appreciated the support Indonesia has given during at UNHRC and the United Nations and recalled with gratitude the assistance given by Indonesia to Sri Lanka’s humanitarian Operation to defeat terrorism.
Minister of External Affairs Prof. G. L. Peiris, Member of Parliament Sajin Vas Gunawardena, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Chief of Staff to the President Gamini Senarath, Sri Lankan Ambassador in Indonesia Nanda Mallawaarachchi were present at the discussion
