Prime Minister of Qatar to visit Sri Lanka

 

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka from December 12-13, on an invitation from the Government.

The high level delegation led by the Qatari Prime Minister will consist of the Minister of Economy and Finance and senior officials together with a business delegation.

The Qatari Prime Minister will be received on arrival by the Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne and the Minister of External Affairs, Prof. G.L.Peiris at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The Prime Minister of Qatar will call on the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and will meet with the Minister of External Affairs.

During the visit, the Qatari business delegation will interact with leading businessmen and entrepreneurs of Sri Lanka to explore opportunities for further promotion of economic cooperation in a range of fields for mutual benefit.

This visit will mark an important milestone in Sri Lanka – Qatar relations and would pave way for greater economic cooperation between the two countries.
