According to the Secretary of the Ministry RWR Premadasa, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has been granted approval to deploy two specially imported buses.

Meanwhile the National Transport Commission is also to deploy two private buses on the expressway. NTC Director General G A S Ganepola stated that the buses will commence public transport from January 01st next year.

The country's first expressway was declared open to the public on November 27.
