The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) introduced the fee levying degree programmes for Sri Lankan and foreign students. Fee levying degree programmes will be offered at an affordable cost, said KDU Vice Chancellor Major General M.P.Peiris.
"Only students who have qualified for university entrance in any stream or possess equivalent qualifications in London A-Ls can apply for these degree programmes," he said.
The KDU offers degrees under three main categories. They are officer cadets, fee levying officer cadets and fee levying students.
Officer cadets are enlisted for regular armed forces, fee levying officer cadets are enlisted for volunteer Armed Forces and fee levying students considered as days schoolers and are not enlisted to the Armed Forces.
"Master degree programmes for officers of armed services and public servants will also offered by the KDU," he said.
The Vice Chancellor said military training is not included in the fee levying degree programmes.
