Compile report on Mt. Lavinia accident President to IGP


President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the Inspector General of Police to immediately provide him a report on the Mount Lavinia school van accident.

The President has also ordered the Child Protection Authority to take measures to uplift the standards of school transport in the country.

President Rajapaksa has also directed the Authority to implement a streamlined process to regularize school van services.

Nine school children were injured when the school van they were travelling crashed into a bus in Mt. Lavinia yesterday.
