Online vehicle verification project launched

 
The online vehicle verification project was launched by the Secretary Defence & Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa Tuesday (Jan 17).

The project was launched to enhance the efficiency of the law enforcement agencies to curb the breach of motor traffic laws.

The initial phase of the project will include 50 GSM mobile phones distributed among MoD, PSD, Tri-services, Police and STF personnel covering the Colombo District.

The functionality of the services also includes access to the Motor Traffic Department's, vehicles database to search for vehicle details, identify if the vehicle number is registered or not and contact the emergency numbers such as 118 or 119 or the Motor Traffic Department.

The project was developed by Dialog Axita (Pvt) Ltd.
