Documentary on LTTE atrocities released

A documentary depicting the atrocities committed by the LTTE during its 30 years of terror war was released yesterday.

The documentary movie produced by the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development titled "Ruthless" is released in response to the efforts by pro-LTTE groups to "whitewash" the LTTE atrocities while accusing the government of Sri Lanka for allegedly committed war crimes.

"Ruthless", is a story about crimes against humanity, recounts true accounts of survivors who lived under the LTTE control before the government militarily defeated the group in May 2009 and are now free to tell their experiences.

The movie captures the eyewitness accounts of LTTE's massacres against Tamil, as well as Sinhala and Muslim civilians and forced recruitment of children as young as 12 to fight their war.
