Another 30 illegal migrants who were detained in West Africa's Togo returned to the island today with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The 30 illegal migrants were part of a group of 209 Sri Lankans who were smuggled out of the country and on their way to Canada via Ethiopia and then Togo.
The migrants were left stranded by people smugglers in Togo and Togolese authorities in last November arrested them.
The migrants included 18 women and 11 children. They have been living in a stadium in the capital Lom since their arrest and reportedly there are 106 stranded Sri Lankans still in Togo.
