The Seychelles Foreign Minister Jean Paul Adam arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday on a two-day official visit at the invitation of the External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris. The Secretary to the External Affairs Ministry Karunaratne Amunugama received the visiting foreign Minister at the Bandaranaike International Airport at Katunayake early this morning.
During the visit, the Seychelles Foreign Minister is to hold bilateral talks with the External Affairs Minister to discuss issues of mutual interest with a view to further enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, the Ministry said.
Visiting Minister is also scheduled to meet Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Dr. Rajitha Senaratne and Minister of Industries and Commerce Rishad Bathiyutheen and discuss the possibilities of promoting bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, economic and fisheries sectors.
Minister Adam's visit is the first high level visit from Seychelles in the recent years.
