Minister of External Affairs, Prof. G.L Peiris who forwarded the proposal, received approval from the cabinet to sign the MoU during his proposed visit to Kazakhstan.

Under the MoU, the two countries will review the bilateral relations and the political, economic, trade, scientific and cultural cooperation as well as issues of mutual interests in the international arena at a meeting convened annually.
