Bilingual services at divisional secretariats


Minister of National Languages and Social Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara says that bilingual relief counters will be established in 76 divisional secretariats islandwide.

The Minister said that these bilingual relief counters are established in the divisional secretariats where both Sinhala and Tamil speaking People live.

Already, the bilingual relief counters have been set up in 14 divisional secretariats. The project will be implemented in 46 divisional secretariats in the first stage.

The counters will be manned with officials who are fluent in both languages to assist the people with their needs
