The National Languages and Social Integration Ministry is to set up provincial language centers in all provinces.
National Languages and Social Integration Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara said the aim is to create a bi-lingual society in the country within the next five to 10 years.
He has explained that a bi-lingual society would remove the language barrier and create peace among all communities.
Minister Nanayakkara has pointed out that the teaching of Sinhala language to the Tamils and vice versa is recommended in the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC).
According to the Minister, the first provincial language center is to be set up shortly in Kilinochchi.
