Won’t allow communal hatred to destroy peace – President


There are groups who attempt to damage peace through creating feelings of communal hatred in the country which our war heroes protected scarifying their lives. But we will never allow them to destroy the peace in our country, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He was addressing a rally for the Eastern Provincial Council election, at the Ampara H. M. Weerasinghe Playground yesterday (26).

The Government has successfully carried out a massive development programme, rebuilding areas destroyed by terrorism so that people to live a better life, he added.

The Government is prepared to fulfill the needs of all people in this country, the President said.

President Rajapaksa also said the Government won’t stop the development drive because of the election. He invited everyone who joined as a nation to save the country from terrorism, to come together to build a better country for future generations.
