Two thousand former rehabilitated LTTE cadres were recruited to the Civil Security Department (CSD) from the Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi districts.

The recruitment drive, a concept of "Tharunyata Hetak" president and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa, was organized by the Director-General of the Civil Defense Department Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris, under the direction of Defense and Urban Development Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

CSD Director General, Rear Admiral, Ananda Peiris, presented letters of appointments and uniforms to the 2,000 new recruits at a ceremony.

Meanwhile, the CSD has also received over 500 new applications from rehabilitated former LTTE cadres and other citizens from the Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi districts on the same day.
