President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for Kuwait a short while ago to attend the first Asian Corporation Dialogue Summit scheduled for 16 and 17 October.
During his stay President Rajapaksa will meet, among others, the King of Saudi Arabia and the Emirs of Kuwait and Qatar on the sidelines of the summit.
The ACD, one of the biggest Asian Grouping today kicked off the summit with a 2-day meeting for senior level officials.
The summit, aimed at consolidating Asia's strength and fortifying its competitiveness in the region, will look into the challenges facing Asia, mainly, in the economic field, and proposed solutions to tackle them.
The Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will open the ACD Summit Tuesday with the participation of 32 Asian nations.
Thailand will host the next ACD Summit in 2015.
