President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday opened another luxury hotel near the Udawalawa National Park.

The 55-room Udawalawa Safari Hotel located on the Udawalawa -Thanamalwila road has been built to provide facilities to the local and foreign tourists visiting the Udawalawa National Park.

Under its drive to develop the tourism sector the government is taking measures to improve accommodations to meet the demand of increasing number of tourists visiting the country after the end of the terrorist war in May 2009.

During his tour in the area Saturday, the President also visited the Udawalawe Maha Vidyalaya and met the students and exchanged views with the people.
