A Project to provide warehouse facilities to store fuel has been initiated by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Accordingly new tanks will be built at the Muthrajawela terminal and Kolonnawa Petroleum Complex.

Three new tanks will be built at Kolonnawa to maintain an adequate supply for emergencies and to ensure a continuous supply of fuel.

The Corporation has also taken steps to supply fuel needs of Mattala International Airport. A pumping station and a tank system with a storing capacity for 03 million liters is being construsted at the airport. Under this project a fuel supply facilities at Banadaranayake International Airport has also been upgraded.
