Housing scheme for families affected by sea erosion

 
Nine storied building with 288 Housing units has been completed to provide shelter to families affected by sea – erosion in Angulana, Moratuwa. This major problem of the fishing community who live in vulnerable areas has been addressed by the Urban Habitat Development Authority through “Jana Sevana” Project.

Construction of 88 houses has already been completed.

Each house is 603 sq feet in extent and costs Rs. 3.5 million including infrastructure.

The project cost Rs. 920 million . The beneficiaries will receive the houses after charging a nominal fee for maintenance costs.
