More than 60,000 families in East to get safe drinking water

 
The Ministry of water supply and Drainage has commenced a scheme to provide safe drinking water to the communities in the Eastern province.

The scheme at a cost of 6,562 million rupees will provide safe drinking water to more than 60,000 families in East.
Water of the Mahaweli River, Rambukkan Oya reservoir and Konduwattwana lake will be tapped and the sub – projects will be at Pottuvil where water is distributed for this purpose major pipe - laying schemes will be implemented from Pottuvil distribution centre . Under this scheme, Uhana, Damana and Hingurana Tsunami Housing schemes will get a water supply.
